6 Hours In
Friday, August 3rd, 2007After 6 hours of racing in the Inaugural Brisbane to Great Keppel Island Tropical Yacht Race, Getaway-Sailing.com has 16 miles on Wedgetail with Cadi, Night Nurse and Quest hot on their tails.
After a late start, Peter Goldsworthy and his Getaway-Sailing.com crew have managed to battle their way through the fleet and are now the line honours favourite.
Lloyds Brokers Too Impetuous, Mondo and Battleship Gray are sitting at the back of the fleet however there is still a long way to go before the yachts round Cape Capricorn as they head north the Monkey Point east of Great Keppel Island.
The moderate 12 knot nor-wester is keeping the fleet in close range as they head past Mooloolaba on their way to Noosa Heads.
Getaway-Sailing.com has opted to head out to sea with the remainder of the fleet choosing to stay close to land.
The typical Queensland weather conditions will provide for some interesting racing.
